Power Supply Components	Working closely with various IC manufacturers, Wurth Electronics Midcom released several new transformers and inductors designed for LED lighting applications . These components maximize operational efficiency while maintaining a compact size for small form factor circuit board construction. All transformers for these semiconductors are designed for low leakage inductance. This minimizes any voltage spikes at the primary when the output switch is turned off and maximizes the efficiency of the chipset, and ultimately the operation of the LED lighting system. Depending on the lighting application, such as medical, consumer, off-line or industrial, there is a semiconductor/transformer system that can be used. Each transformer is designed as flyback topology operation. This allows for high performance, while keeping isolation between the input and output. Each transformer is rated for -40°C to 125°C operation with 1.5kV hi-pot isolation voltage. The IC houses working with Wurth Electronics Midcom include NXP Semiconductors, Infineon Technologies, National Semiconductor, Texas Instruments and ON Semiconductor.
