Job Function:
Work with a cross-functional team to on the product definition, architecture and system prototypes of Qualcomms new ARMv8 based server SOC ASICs for the power optimized server market. Primary responsibilities include specification, development and hardware shakeout of server prototypes utilizing the Qualcomms new SOC
Responsibilities:
Work with customers to flush out requirements.
Develop functional specification for Server System
Define system architecture and design systems including BMC, power electrical/mechanical and PCB definition/design
Power design and optimization
Bring up and debug Systems
Skills/Experience:
Candidate should have an BS in EE or CE with 7+ years of server development experience
Knowledge of server motherboard, backplane, and chassis power delivery, regulation, decoupling, distribution and thermal management.
Experience qualifying and selecting power management ICs (PMICs), voltage regulator (VR) components, and discrete power supplies.
Solid understanding of Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) hardware and software interface to PMICs, VRs, and discrete power supplies including associated protocols (SMBus and PMBus) and commands.
Knowledge in high speed serial IO, PCI-E, SATA, Ethernet
Experience and familiarity with schematic capture, and PCB layout tools a plus
Experience with circuit simulation tools (SPICE), and Signal /Power Integrity concerns and analysis
Experience in power analysis, bench marking and optimization.
Education Requirements:
Required: Bachelor's, Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and/or
Electrical Engineering with 5 plus years experience
