The Burlington T&D centre is one of three global hubs for LED lighting Technology and development. It includes front end development (lighting sector), supports global platform development for BG Prof. Luminiares and supports the regional businesses in Prof lums with Technology and design support. This job resides in the advanced development team of the T&D center Burlington. This advanced development team works on electronics for LED drivers, the firmware and software. It also works on technological breakthrough innovation for LED Lighting systems and solutions

Your Responsibilities:
Provides engineering expertise in the areas of analog electronics, high efficiency power supply design, including power factor correction, EMI , converter design (all topologies), simulation, and component selection.

Works on cutting edge technologies for LED lighting powersupplies/drivers that will deliver future proof solutions for dimming, application schemes, digital features and functions. The new (often hybrid digital and analog) technologies need to quickly find their way in the market and as such the Sr. Engineer will closely work with product design engineers to ensure the proper take up of new concepts.

Executes function creation and technology projects and directly manages the inclusion of such projects into platform and product creation.

Delivers Concept designs that meet technology roadmaps including feature, cost, power and thermal requirements following a defined technology development process.

Creates and improves design tools, design rules and reference design specifications and drafts schematics and test plans. Ensures proper training, documentation and learnings towards platform and product development organisations.

Continuously benchmarks new innovations and products from other LED lighting manufacturers.

Co-defines technology roadmaps and actively participates in peer networks within the company and beyond. Contributes to standardisation and co-development efforts.

The Sr. engineer mentors junior engineers in design and implementation of power supply and analog circuitry.

Your Profile:
The candidate must be self-motivated and able to work in a dynamic environment with little supervision. An ability to think outside of the box, be creative and propose new, unconventional solutions. Is besides a thorough professional also an excellent written and oral communicator. Has preferably experience in project management. Mmust be able to work in a multi-cultural, international environment. Being on the cutting edge in a fast paced, dynamic and challenging business environment where new technologies are quickly integrated into actual products by various Philips Lighting businesses.
